Beards?

I've got a beard. I can keep it trimmed short and it looks fine, but I've grown it out before and it stays full and bushy- I'm thinking I might take the opportunity to grow it out, and am pondering an historical style, if I can find one for my period that looks interesting to me. Where would I find resources on 14th century Frisian (northern Netherlands/German/North Sea) beard styles?
