Net radio.

I will freely admit that net radio is fairly peripheral to SCA concerns, but I know that the SCA has many talented and creative people, some of whom create audio or have a passion for sharing knowledge. I started putting together a net radio/podcast site for fun a couple of weeks ago, and it's rapidly turned into a larger project, so I've scaled the technical end up some and now have room for a significant amount of content. The basic concept of the "station" is that the content is original (or at least not illegal to share), free to download (under the Creative Commons license), and quality is more important than genre; the projects currently cleared for hosting include several radio dramas, original music compositions, and classic poetry readings.

So, while I wouldn't say the project is hungry for content, I would say that if anyone wants to offer us some, odds are good (assuming quality) that we'd be delighted to have it and share it with the world. I've heard rumors that there may be Avacalians with musical talent and works that they can legally offer to the public. And, of course, the entire Laureate, Marshallate, and uh, Pelicanate(?), not to mention the various scarves, belts, pointy hats, etc., are chock-full of wisdom and knowledge which I imagine would be interesting if, say, their opinions and research were combined into some kind of show with talking. And since I happen to be in possession of a site which would happily host and serve such a show for free, I could guarantee a place for audiences to come and listen to it. You know. If someone were to start some sort of regular show- or irregular show- with that kind of content.

I am aware that there are SCA podcasts and music out there, and I'm not trying to be in competition with them- heaven forfend. But, if any Avacalians are interested in creating content that gets shared with the internet, and don't have the technical resources to do it themselves, I do. The site's not live yet- still implementing some more complex technical elements, still waiting on a designer for a pretty design- but it should start running shortly after Halloween, for those as are interested. In no way can I promise any sort of recompense (besides your name online), but if the station gets large enough to gain ad revenue, there's a post-expenses profit-sharing scheme for contributors. This is not, however, anything I would bet on.

tl;dr - any mp3 content so long as it's interesting, of adequate quality, and legal to share, I will put into the intertubes for you. Not offering to run the show for you, as managing the entire project is keeping my hands full.
