How to resize an image to use as your profile picture

Several users have asked me to help them resize a photos to use as their profile picture. As you may or may not know, your profile picture (also known as your avatar), can be no larger than 120 pixels on any side, and must be below 20Kb. If you lack the skills and/or proper image manipulation software resize your photo to these dimensions, I suggest that you try some online resources.

A google search for "online photo resizing" yielded this: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/. It allows you to shrink the photo to a custom size. Just select the "custom" button in the second stem and enter 120 in the text field. This will give you an image with 120 pixels on its largest side. Another option to try is http://pixenate.com/. It has graphic tools to help you alter your photos.
