Welcome to Low Profile Gear LPG's mission is to provide safe, lightweight, durable, affordable plastic armor to armored combatants in the Society for Creative Anachronism and anyone else who is interested in performance-oriented armor.   This armor is made from lightweight, high-strength, high density polyethylene, aka puck board (a kind of plastic). This is the same material that is used to line the walls of hockey arenas, which is made to withstand high-speed impacts of frozen hockey pucks. In short, this plastic armor is tough - in any weather!

Low Profile Gear was started because I felt there was a need in the SCA for a low-cost, one-stop-shop for new people and veterans alike. This gear is meant for the person who wants to be able to have full mobility on the field, be protected, and have low maintenance armor at a good price.

LPG is an SCA armory who's goal isn't to make plastic armor that looks medieval (it's plastic, after all). Rather my goal is to make light-weight, sport armor meant to be worn under period garb, or covered in some sort of material.

Many armorers out there prize aesthetics over performance. That's not surprising, considering we are a recreation group. However, over the years, many of my customers have come to treat SCA fighting as a sport as well as a re-creation activity. That's the kind of fighter I cater to - the kind of fighter who still wants to look period, but prefers to do so by wearing feather-light armor under period garb.
